Ski Rossendale Lift Closure
Rossendale Leisure Trust has taken immediate steps to temporally close the main Ski lift at Rossendale Ski Slope on Health & Safety grounds. This follows advice received today from external engineers regarding the operational state of the Ski lifts and a requirement to make suitable repairs.
The Trust will now be working with its engineers and Rossendale Borough Council to identify what necessary repairs and timelines are required in order to bring the lifts back to a satisfactory working order.
The slope will remain open for business as normal, Diane Scott Head of Operations Sport, Rossendale Leisure Trust said that decision was taken to ensure the safety of our customers , the Trust would like to thank all of our customers for their ongoing support .
Rossendale Council’s Communities Manager, Mike Riley said:
“The Leisure Trust has taken the right course of action by closing the main ski lift temporarily until further safety inspections and repairs take place and we support them in this decision.
“Ski Rossendale will remain open as usual with an alternative lift facility in use.
“Independent consultants KKP recommended that the Council explore the potential for private sector investment in the facility to secure its future and we are pressing ahead with that recommendation”.
