Whitworth Community High School
Rossendale Leisure Trust works across Rossendale helping our community to access sport, physical activity and cultural opportunities. As part of our responsibilities we have entered a partnership with Whitworth Community High School to provide community access to the school’s impressive NOF funded sports hall and fitness centre. Built to the identical specification of Alder Grange Community and Technology School, the facilities are situated on Hall Fold, Whitworth The centre was completed in 2006 and comprises of a four-court sports hall and community gym, which opens up for public access after the school day and over the weekend.
Hire
The centre is available to hire at extremely competitive rates and is now home to a range of clubs in the area. We offer facilities for a wide range of sports including football, basketball, cricket, badminton, volleyball, handball and indoor training. So, if you want to book after school courses for children and adults, or you are planning your own children’s party, you should give the centre a call and find out what exactly is on offer.
Health and Fitness
For those of you who wish to tone up and get into shape, the community gym is on hand to get your own personal training plan in place and start that fitness campaign you have always promised yourself. There is nothing like a good workout at the end of the day to get both your body and mind working together. A wide range of aerobic and instructed classes are programmed throughout the week, which make use of the schools wider facilities including Body Pump, Body Blast and Pilates. Exercising as part of a class is always a great option, not only do you meet new friends but you will also feel great in no time.
Extended Activities
Whitworth Community High School also has some special activities on offer including gymnastics, which includes basic floor work, trampet and vault. We also provide trampoline sessions, which are delivered to the British Trampoline framework providing certificates and accreditation, which shows you can be rewarded, have fun and exercise all at the same time, plus these are even open to adults!
