Marl Pits Swimming Pool
Marl Pits Pool is situated at the heart of the Marl Pits Sports Complex on Newchurch Road in Rawtenstall. With its light and airy atmosphere the 25 metre pool is the focal point for a varied water activity programme to suit all ages. In addition, there is a smaller pool, which is ideal for the younger family members to develop water skills through play. With good parking and disabled facilities, Marl Pits Pool provides a friendly informal atmosphere for everyone.
Swimming Lessons
Over 1000 children a week take part in our learn to swim programme. As an Amateur Swimming Association accredited centre, all instructors must undergo and pass the ASA’s training program to ensure we deliver the highest standards of tuition. Beginning with Adult and Child classes, children as young as 4 months old are helped to develop water confidence through play activities. Pre-school classes for 3yrs+ help young ones to learn basic skills for swimming. Evenings and Saturdays are dedicated to children aged 4yrs+ and focus on developing the skills already learned and co-ordinating swimming techniques through various levels. Each 10-week course is designed to help individuals progress according to their own abilities. Our adult technique classes also prove popular and many testify to the fact you are never to old to learn.
Parties and Fun Sessions
Pool parties are particularly popular for children’s birthdays. Whether it’s our Caribbean Adventure with the inflatable pirate ship or a mats, balls and music party you will have lots of fun. Food options are also available. With our regular fun sessions, themed discos and competitive events during the holidays, an exciting time is guaranteed.
General Swimming and Exercise
Our extensive public swimming programme offers a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities. We offer early bird swimming, over 50’s, ladies only, adult only, lunchtime swimming and different levels of aqua aerobics classes.
