Centres Introduction
Rossendale Leisure Trust runs a variety of different facilities within the Rossendale Valley, which provide a vast range of sporting and cultural activities for the community.
Bacup Leisure Hall
Bacup Leisure Hall is one of the most versatile facilities in Rossendale. From comedy shows to parties and badminton to theatre productions, the Hall can cater for it all. With in-house catering now available, you can be assured that your event will be a huge success.
On a sporting front, badminton and squash courts are available to book throughout the year for both casual and club use. The centre is also home to an enthusiastic bowling league during the winter months.
Haslingden Sports Centre
Haslingden Sports Centre is a hive of sporting activities throughout the day. The Centre is home to many local clubs and offers opportunities to get involved in a range of sports and physical activity programs.
The 2-storey Lifestyle Centre includes a 60 station gym and a purpose built dance/aerobics studio. With luxurious changing rooms, the Centre is very much a five star facility.
Haslingden Swimming Pool
Haslingden Pool offers a host of invigorating activities to all members of the community. The extremely popular health suite is a place to chill out and socialise, comprising of a sauna, steam room, spa pool and relaxation area, it is ideal for relaxing after a hard day at work.
The pool hosts numerous disco parties throughout the year, which have now become legendary! As an ASA accredited centre, the pool offers swimming lessons to children from the age of 4. Lessons follow the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming, and develop stroke technique, efficiency and, most importantly, water confidence.
Marl Pits Swimming Pool
With its light and airy atmosphere the 25-metre pool at Marl Pits is the focal point for a varied water activity programme to suit all ages. In addition, there is a smaller pool, which is ideal for the younger family members to develop water skills through play. With good parking and disabled facilities, Marl Pits Pool provides a friendly informal atmosphere for everyone.
Ski Rossendale
Ski Rossendale offers a host of experiences, from skiing and snowboarding, to snow tubing for the children and freestyle training on the new quarter pipe, for those who are feeling a little more adventurous!
The Snoflex nursery slope is ideal for beginners, and the 200m Dendex main slope has arguably the country’s best Snoflex quarter pipe. The Fun Park is the place to practice slope style skills. It contains a challenging flat/down handrail, jumps to suit all abilities along with a box and flat learner rail.
Catering for all levels of ability from beginners through to advanced, the fully qualified, dedicated and experienced instructors will deliver your lessons to ensure you are ready to hit the slopes and make the best of your holiday.
Alder Grange
Rossendale Leisure Trust works in partnership with Alder Grange Community and Technology School to provide community access to the school’s impressive NOF funded sports hall and fitness centre. Completed in 2006, the centre comprises of a four-court sports hall and community gym. The centre is a hive of activity when it opens up for public access after the school day and over the weekend.
Whitworth Community Sports Centre
Rossendale Leisure Trust works across Rossendale helping our community to access sport, physical activity and cultural opportunities. As part of our responsibilities we have entered a partnership with Whitworth Community High School to provide community access to the school’s impressive NOF funded sports hall and fitness centre. The centre was completed in 2006 and comprises of a four-court sports hall and community gym, which opens up for public access after the school day and over the weekend.
